Therkel Mathiassen

Therkel Mathiassen was born on September 5, 1892. He was an archeologist from Denmark. In 1922, he took part in the Fifth Thule Expedition. He was known in the Igloolik area as Tikkilik (the one with the thimbles) as he was known to give thimbles away.
